Pagan Jewelry

The following are pieces of jewelry I have made for myself and others, most often to honor a specific Deity, sometimes for a specifically magickal purpose.

Personal Items

Frey and Nerthus Collar

A necklace I made to wear as a continual reminder of Frey, my Husband and Owner, and His mother Nerthus, my Boss Lady. The Frey pendant is bronze, which I got awhile back from Ragnar's Ragweed Forge. Just above Frey is a bronze Venus of Willendorf pendant, which I found at Bones and Flowers in Worcester, Massachusetts during my trip to Cauldron Farm in August 2008. The beads on the necklace are alternating amber, labradorite, yellow opal, and aventurine, which to me represents the sunshine, gentle rains, mist, and the growth of the land, associated with Frey and the rest of the Vanir.  The necklace is approximately 21 inches long, and is weighty enough that I can't forget I'm wearing it, and serves as a reminder to keep my words and deeds in line with what the Vanir would want, to make every moment of every day purposeful.

Gerda Necklace

A necklace made to wear in honor of my patron Goddess, Gerda.  I try to alternate back and forth between this and my Frey/Nerthus necklace, so I wear Hers 2 days a week, and Theirs 5 days a week.  Wearing the Gerda necklace is a sign that my duty light is "off" and I am taking the day for self-care, relaxation, etc.  The necklace is a combination of bloodstone, garnet, amethyst, and smoky quartz beads with glass spacers, plus a pewter Goddess-flower-head pendant (which I thought appropriate for Goddess of the walled garden).

Freyja's Brisingamen

A necklace worthy of a Vanadis, which I wear in rituals where She is honored, as well as when I want to look fabulous.  :)  The pendant is a goldtone metal heart, and the beads are golden Baltic amber, citrine, and golden freshwater pearls, with golden glass spacers.

Vanir Necklace

A necklace I made specifically for "official" duties as priest to the Vanir. The bottom pendant is a black stone priestess totem bordered by green-gold Sculpey, with a black bead separating that from a cabochon of Baltic amber set in gold Sculpey. Above that are four bloodstones separated by three garnets each. The rest of the necklace is a combination of moss stone, malachite, breciated jasper, garnet, bloodstone, amber, and red-brown glass spacers.

Jewelry For Others

Frigga Necklace

A necklace that has been sold to a friend, 23 inches with key pendant and combination of freshwater rice pearls and rainbow moonstone, and pearlized glass spacers, on a goldtone barrel clasp.

Idunna Necklace

A necklace made as a devotional offering to Idunna/Eostre.  Pendant is pewter flower Goddess figure, beads are a combination of pink jade, cherry quartz, moss stone, and citrine, with gold spacers. The necklace evokes spring.

Loki Necklace

This is a necklace for a Lokean, the focal point are two tie-dye beads -- yellow with some red flame-ish-ness, on either side of an orange glass barrel bead, called "Loki's Big Flamey Balls" tongue-in-cheek. The beads around the necklace are a combination of carnelian, fluorite, rainbow acrylic, and blue glass, with gold glass spacers. It has a very fiery and magickal feel to it.

Skadhi Necklace

A necklace made as a devotional practice to Skadhi, for one of Her people. Goddess pendant, with grey/blue "tie-dye" bead above. The beads are a combination of labradorite and moonstone, with hematite in between light blue glass spacers.

Eir Necklace

A necklace made as a devotional act to Eir, the Norse Goddess of healing. Pewter Goddess pendant, with 12 hematite beads leading up to red jasper, carnelian, amber, malachite, blue aventurine, and purple fluorite, separated by more hematite and rainbow-acrylic beads, as well as gold glass spacers.  I gave this necklace to my mom, as she works in nursing.  :)

Njord Necklace

Necklace made as a devotional act to Njord.  The pendant is a seahorse carved on shell -- I associate the seahorse with Njord because the father bears the children, not unlike Njord's raising of Frey and Freyja. Above the seahorse pendant is a grey agate. The bead strand is a combination of sodalite, fancy jasper, blue moss agate, and blue onyx, with blue glass spacers.

Ran and the Nine Daughters

A necklace made in honor of Ran and the Nine Daughters.  The pendant is a mermaid, and nine grey agate stones go around the necklace to represent the Nine Daughters. I also used sodalite, amazonite, and labradorite for the colors of the sea, with blue glass seed beads as spacers.

Element of Earth Necklace

This is one of the first times I've done a non-Deity specific necklace, for the element of Earth. I used red jasper, hematite, breciated jasper, and malachite, because the combination had a very earthy, grounded feel. The pendant is an equal-armed Celtic knot. This necklace was a gift to a friend for grounding as well as for protection in travel, to keep someone "anchored" and warded in the Four Directions.

Morrighan Necklace

Pewter Goddess pendant, beads in a combination of white shell, red coral, and black onyx for The Morrighan's triple aspect of Badb, Macha, and Nemain.
