Pocket Prayer Beads for On-the-Go
To increase our devotional practice and thus our connection to the Gods, my partner and I thought it would be a good idea to have prayer beads that could easily fit in one's pocket, with a different bead used for each Deity in our "personal pantheon" (that is, the Gods that we are closest to), and thus while he's on break at work, or I'm taking a pause in the activities of my day, we can go around the circle and Say Hi.
Here are pictures of those prayer bead sets, and my explanations.
My Partner's Beads
The pendant is a tear-shaped clear quartz marked with Algiz in gold. Clockwise from the left: an amethyst chip for Gerda, a moss stone for Frey, a piece of golden Baltic amber for Freyja, a seashell for Njord, a green malachite for Wuldor, a labradorite for Woden, a golden freshwater pearl for Frigga, a red jasper for Thor, a garnet for Tyr, a blue aventurine for the sea etins, a citrine for Sunna, and a moonstone for Mani.
Rather than having set prayers for the beads, my other half finds it more helpful to go around the circle and give requests, thanks, and/or praise to each Deity, and then use the pendant as a focal point.
My Own Beads
The bottom pendant is an equal-armed cross over a round mirror, which works as a protective talisman as well as aligning myself with the Four Directions and Four Elements. This particular set is dedicated to the Vanir and only the Vanir, that is, Gods who are Vanir by blood *or* etin-brides that married into the tribe.
